Finding the Right Balance

Screen Time and Kids: Finding the Right Balance

Screens are part of modern childhood. The key isn’t to eliminate them but to teach children how to use them wisely. Experts recommend limiting screen time for children aged 2–5 years to under one hour per day, ideally with a parent watching alongside.

Why Screen Time Needs Limits –

Affects sleep and attention span – Reduces face-to-face social interaction – Can lead to dependency on visual stimulation

Smart Screen Habits

1. Create family rules: Define when and where screens can be used.

2. Choose educational content: Interactive videos, rhymes, or story-based learning.

3. Co-watch: Discuss what’s happening on screen to build comprehension.

4. Encourage creative play: Balance screen time with drawing, building, or outdoor games.

5. Avoid screens during meals and bedtime.

At Glo Preschool

Our classrooms focus on hands-on learning — art, music, storytelling, and sensory play. Technology supports learning; it never replaces real connection.

Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world. Education is not something which the teacher does, but it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being. It is not acquired by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment.
